"It's already basically out" was pretty wrong term by me. Theres only developer preview at the moment and versions like that tend to lack features, be buggy as fuck, even not work at all. I personally have great expectations towards this OS since Android basically is Linux already, now there's just more Linuxish OS coming for cellphones.Last edited by mencore; 04-28-2013, 11:53 PM.lolmaoman: Germans are born with a lifetime x22 login engraved into their birth certificates. If you want super-cheap phone, you could get ZTE Blade 3, I've heard they are not that bad even when they are quite cheap.lolmaoman: Germans are born with a lifetime x22 login engraved into their birth certificates. True story.

Get a fucking Nexus 4. A new version Android is out? Np, you got it instantanelly on your phone. Gtfo of Bands like HTC, Shitsung and co. I've been developing for Samsung devices ( Read Porting drivers and writing code and function for Android ), In ICS time, and the OpenSourcing is just shitty, and the crappy codes are everywhere.
Nexus is the way to go, and in second, I'd persoanlly take the HTC One. Cause, even tough they don't release OS updates and stuff fast enough, they still push out Kernel SRC (which they have to because of the GPL Liscence) quite fast which would allow you to push some custom ROMs, like Cyano, AOKP Paranoid Android & Co.
Nexus 4 : 350€.
This said, about Ubuntu OS, there isn't ANYTHING new in it since 2 MONTHS. Nothing. Still the same DemoOS, with fake notifications, fake contacts. Use it 15 minutes, then you'll just come back to your Favorite ROM.
If you need more information on android, or devices etc, send me a PM, this is one subject I'm familiar with.

Ubuntu OS is not ready and it's just a developer preview so it's not meant to be used as a daily ROM and only an idiot would install it for a phone they use daily. Also only an idiot would think that a brand new cellphone operating system would be ready in 2 months. It's not same as when some 13 years old modifies CyanogenMod's wallpaper at XDA-Developers and releases it as new ROM. These things actually take time.
Yeah I forgot about Nexus 4, it's also an awesome choice for a cellphone, good price, stock Android experience ( that you can get with AOKP for almost any phone tho ), good hardware.Last edited by mencore; 05-02-2013, 09:54 AM.lolmaoman: Germans are born with a lifetime x22 login engraved into their birth certificates. Thus, I agree on the fact that everyone on XDA releaseing a "custom" ROM on xda, calls himself as a developer, when mostly what he did was just using winrar, to throw/remove two apk, and modify some theme/wallpapers etc.
But my point is, most of flagship phones, are running older android version than every "new" nexus out there.

Re: Most interesting phone OS that's about to come
I guess it's time to order Nexus 4, last night when I was drunk I thought it was a good idea trying to catch my SGS2 that my friend dropped from balcony of first floor.
Surprise, surprise, I didnt catch it and the glass on top of display got broken, phone still works tho and display didnt get damaged but getting glasscuts everytime I use my phone does not amuse me.lolmaoman: Germans are born with a lifetime x22 login engraved into their birth certificates.
